Launceston Airport is reporting record number of passengers during the second quarter of the 2012 to 2013 financial year. The airport achieved 9 per cent growth for the quarter with about 325,000 passengers travelling through the airport.
Launceston Airport has attributed the growth to increased airline capacity. Airport authorities are welcoming the Tasmanian Goverment commitment of an additional $1 million dollars over the next 6 months to strengthen tourism marketing which might lead to increased capacity to Tasmanian destinations.
