From 1 May 2014, Qantas will introduce a daily service between Brisbane and Port Macquarie utilising the 74 seat Dash 8-400 aircraft. Starting June 7 2014 there will be a weekly B737 service between Melbourne and Coffs Harbour. This direct service will cut 2 hours flight time between the two destinations.
A weekend return service between Sydney and Hervey Bay will be operated by B717 aircraft commencing 17 May 2014. There will B737 flights two times a week between Sydney and the popular Queensland resort of Hamilton Island starting from July 2. An extra flight each week will be added during peak periods.
Starting 14 April 2014 Qantas will introduce a nine times a week service between Brisbane and Miles, a coal mining town 340 km north-west of Brisbane. Qantas will use a combination of Dash 8 200 and Dash 8 300 aircraft on the route.
