Today the Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Warren Truss, announced the signing of agreement between Australia and Cambodia to pave the way for direct air services between the two countries.

Today the Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Warren Truss, announced the signing of agreement between Australia and Cambodia to pave the way for direct air services between the two countries.

Over the last 5 years the number of passengers between the two countries has doubled.  In 2013 almost 110,000 passengers traveled between Australia and Cambodia.

The agreement will allow up to seven direct flights a week by Cambodian and Australian airlines  between the two countries.

In advancement of the signing of the agreement Australia's two biggest airlines , Qantas and Virgin, have began serving the Cambodian market through code sharing arrangements.
