Adelaide Airport’s international air traffic grew an amazing 25.5% in the last financial year. This is the third consecutive year in which Adelaide’s international traffic has grown at double digit rate.
Adelaide Airport’s international air traffic grew an amazing 25.5% in the last financial year. This is the third consecutive year in which Adelaide’s international traffic has grown at double digit rate.
In comparison, Melbourne’s international traffic grew 9% last year whilst Sydney’s international traffic grew by 4.6% in the same period.
Adelaide Airport have attributed the growth partly to the increased number of flights. The number of weekly services have increased from 33 a week in mid-2011 to the current rate of 53 per week. Adelaide Airport has seen low cost carriers Air Asia X and Jetstar International commence operations in the last year.
Domestic numbers grew 3.5% in the financial year to a total of 6.2 million for the year. The number of domestic seats increased 3.1% with an additional 238,000 seats provided in the financial year.
