The Minister for Infrastucture and Transport, the Honorable Anthony Albanese annouced this week a significant increase in the number of services between Australia and China over the Christmas period.

The number of weekly flights will increase 60 per cent from 37 to 59 which will mean a extra 6300 seats a week between Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and five Chinese cities.  It is also planned for a fourth Chinese airline Hainan Airlines to commence services to Australia on a ongoing basis.
