Australian Aviation, Australia's premier aviation magazine, is reporting QantasLink is aquiring two addition Boeing 717 jet aircraft and as a consequence is expanding services in regional Queensland.

QantasLink will introduce a twice weekly service between Townsville and Moranbah using Dash 8-400 aircraft.  QantasLink will also increase services between Brisbane and Moranbah from October 17 to better serve the Bowen Basin coal fields.

In addition QantasLink are increasing services to the city of Emerald by two a week to 38.  There will be an addition two flights a week between Cairns and Weipa.  There will be an upgrade to Dash 8-300 series aircraft on the Brisbane to Roma and Charleville services.

QantasLink have introduced these new services in response to the booming Queensland resource sector.
