Australian Aviation magazine is reporting Brisbane Airport processed a record number of passengers during 2011.

A record 20.4 million passengers passed through Brisbane Airport during 2011, a remarkable number given multiple disruptions to air travel.  In early 2011 operations were curtailed due to floods around south east Queensland.  During most of the year industrial troubles at Australia's largest airline Qantas, also had an effect on air travel..

Brisbane Airport are predicting growth to continue into 2012.  Airlines have added more than 330,000 domestic and 54,000 international seats into and out of the Queensland capital during the holiday period.  This is an increase of 10 per cent and 5 per cent respectively over the numbers for last year.

During December 2011 the airport reported a 3.2 per cent increase in domestic passengers and a 3.5 per cent increase in international passengers over December 2010.
