Jetstar Airlines, part of the Qantas Group, have announced more services between Darwin and Asian ports. This follows on from SilkAirs announcement to commence a regular Darwin to Singapore service commencing in the next couple of months.

From March 23 2012, Jetstar will increase the weekly flights between Darwin and Singapore from seven to ten.  This will provide an extra 13000 seats a year between the two cities.

Commencing on the 25th of March 2012, Jetstar will introduce a four-times-a-week Darwin-Manilla-Tokyo service.  Japan is the fourth largest inbound market for the Northern Territory with about 28,000 vistors annually.

Jetstar expect some of the passengers on these routes will continue onto other Australian locations. Including the new services, there will be a total of 25 Jetstar flights a week between Darwin and Asia.
